NOON
FORECAST FOR
Saturday,
July 4, 2009
The
large cluster of showers sitting to our east has dissipated as residual cloud
cover gradually thins and disappears as well.
Satellite imagery depicts a line of convergence just southwest of the
atoll extending over southern Namu and southeastward towards Majuro. This is the northern boundary of a weak
circulation at the surface S-SW of Kwaj. Heavy showers along this boundary can be seen
on long range radar and throughout the day, this line could propagate towards
the atoll bringing a better chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms. Diffluent flow aloft will help assist the
rising air necessary for deep convection.
This pattern will gradually break down tonight as the chance of showers
decreases just a bit. The chance of
precipitation is 30% today and 20% tonight with a 10% chance for thunderstorms
today. Combined seas on the open ocean
will be 3-4 ft. MLA
